5 Tips to Boost your Photography Business!!

Many of us wedding photographers who have spent around 2-3 years in this business still are confused or may have questions about broadcasting your business in a strategic and organized manner. Today I would like to pen down few important points that are really necessary to get a flow of customers in your business.

1. Build a nice work profile:

You may have noticed that in our Hindi film Industry aka Bollywood, the more bogus the movie is..more is the rigorous amount of money is spend on its promotion. The main reason behind it is that even the producers know that the content of the film is not good enough to bring the audience to the Multiplexes. Its the same with any business be it a fruit seller or a wedding photographer. So the basic point of saying this is that more beautiful and stunning your photographs are the easier it is to get noticed on social media platform. So if you are a freelancer who is looking to collaborate with other wedding houses or you own a company yourself the basic need is to capture stunning photographs and videos.

2. Build a Website:

There are "N" number of wedding photographers in this country, India has a population of 1.3 billion people. Huuuuuuge isnt it?? As per the market survey's there are said to be 10,000-15,000 candid wedding photographers in India who focus on the mid-to-high end of the wedding segment and charge anything between Rs 50,000 and Rs 7 lakh a day. Again a huge number, so how do we stand out of the crowd?? How do we make the audience know that we exist? Well we need to show the audience that we are serious enough to do the basic homework and then have arrived to leave a mark. Build a photography website as soon as possible. It helps you build a strong online presence and gives an edge to your wedding photography career. There are many portals via which you can create a website of your own:

1. Wordpress.

2. Wix.

3. Squarespace.

4. Godaddy.

5. Webflow.

There are tutorials available in many links in google and also youtube via which you can create & customize your website.

3. Search Engine Optimization:

Well, we all know that google knows everything :) you have a doubt...as we say...we google it...now as an end user how would we search in google that we need a photographer for an event or your wedding. We type "wedding photographers near me" or "wedding photographers in Kolkata" or say... "Pre wedding Photographers near me". Now when we press "Enter" we see a pool of information opens up suggesting us the appropriate results. Now imagine even if you have created your website why dont we see our website on the first page of search results. The answer to the question is doing SEO for your website, or in other words perform some key operations to bring your website on the first page of search results. The probability of client visibility would increase rapidly as we seldom get to the 2nd or 3rd page of the google results. To do SEO, it takes around 6-7 months or even a year to get noticed. So we need loads of patience for doing it.

How to do that?? You can get it done by any social media marketers or you can do it yourself only after you have a proper training for the same. The are various online courses in Youtube and paid courses such as Udemy who can help you to understand the course and get the job done.

4. Social Media Presence:

The most common platform moreover the most obvious platform to get noticed. Over the years Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and many such portals have helped businessmen get noticed. The facebook alone has 28 million active users in a month. I hope you can imagine how much traffic it can generate to your profile. The Facebook Advt. Manager is a clever tool where you can choose your target audience (please refer to youtube tutorials), the demographics and the genre of audience you want to target. The facebook would filter specifically that audience who would be interested in your profile to get their job done. Google ad manager and Instagram business are the other tools if used cleverly can bring in fortunes for you. So create a page today and get going :)

There are also paid websites like wedmegood, weddingwire, canvera, shaadisaga who have packages to offer and you can opt for their paid services to grab the clients. You can post your portfolio in these websites which would help the clients choose.

5. Client feedbacks:

While searching for a product in amazon what is the first thing we notice about the product...?? The Feedback/reviews of other end users. If we see good reviews, then we often buy the product without hesitation. Same is the concept for wedding photography. Always after completing a project do ask your clients to give an honest feedback about their experience of working with you. Trust me they can always spare 5 minutes for you if they loved your job. You can ask them to post on your facebook page, the website you have created or even on the paid websites (if you have opted for them). The more the reviews, the more is the probability for getting clients.
